Cut-off Wheel is one of the indispensable materials in mechanical engineering, construction, shipbuilding, etc. However, if using cut-off wheel improperly, it will cause many accidents when working. Here are 5 safe and effective cut-off wheel usage notes:
1. OBSERVATIONS OF CUT-OFF WHEEL QUALITY
During transport, storage, cut-off wheel can be broken, cracked or damaged. We should check carefully to avoid splintering of debris from the rock causing serious damage to users and people around or damaging, scratching the cut surface
2. CHECKING CUT-OFF WHEEL PARAMETERS
Check if the cut-off wheel specifications are suitable for the machine you are using to avoid damaging the machine and the cut off wheel may break when the machine is operating. When checking, note the following information:
Machine diameter: Internal diameter and outer diameter recorded on the cut-off wheel must be suitable and airtight with the machine
Cutting materials: Cut only materials that are allowed to be displayed on cut-off wheel, if used with other materials that need to be replaced with other cut-off wheel or contact technical staff for advice.
Maximum rotation speed: do not use the specified speed on the cut-off wheel and on the machine to ensure safety
3. INSTALLING MACHINE PROTECTION SHEET
The protective plate of the machine is installed in the upper half and obscures half of the cut-off wheel. They will protect the body from limiting the damage caused by the broken rock splintering when an incident occurs
Insert the plate protection plate so that the protrusion on the plate protection plate aligns with the mark on the bearing box. Then turn the protective ring to a corner that can protect the operator depending on the job. Be sure to tighten the screw before use
